Polyphemus Moth Caterpillar

Antheraea polyphemus

Description:

Spotted this caterpillar at Shaw Nature Reserve. About 1.5" from the caterpillar was this eggshell with a clear trail leading to the the back end of the caterpillar. It must have had grown considerably, but it appears that it was still in its first instar as I so no indication of shedding.
