About 10-12 millimeters in body length, colored as shown.

Habitat:

Wasp was visiting flowers of White Sweet Clover (Melilotus alba) along the banks of an arroyo (dry riverbed). Surrounding habitat is degraded shortgrass prairie with sunflower, yucca, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees.
