Thread-waisted wasps

Eremnophila aureonotata

Description:

Blue-black in color with bold silver spots on thorax (and face of male).

Habitat:

Nectaring on White Sweet Clover flowers while mating. Location was beside a dry riverbed (arroyo) in an otherwise vast open area.

Notes:

This is probably as far west as this species ranges, and it may not be very common here.
