The 2nd picture is as taken and saved by the camera in automatic mode. 20x zoom was used in reasonable light. Brighter light would have enabled an increase in f# and speed to improve the quality and saving in raw mode, if it was available would result in a much better picture. A bigger sensor would also help, as would getting closer to the subject.
