Noctuidae Moth

Family: Noctuidae G. sp.

Description:

Super close up of a 'medium' sized moth. I was hunting jumping spiders at the time, so I didn't have an ideal lens kit on. It looks pretty cool though, so I thought I'd put it up anyway. (Pretty Sure it's a Noctuid moth).

Habitat:

Diverse woods near a small lake.

MistyFernForest: FYI The Lens is actually a cheap $300.00 50mm Pentax lens. The lens is mounted reversed (reversing ring $6.00 on eBay) on a bellows that I ordered on eBay for $40.00. I'm using a very expensive flash, but almost any off-camera flash with a large DIY diffuser will do the trick. Long story short -- this kit can be done for under $500.00 including a cheap flash!!! Thanks for your interest in my macros!

Did you happen to photograph the rest of the moth, even if slightly blurry?
