A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
A robust male Wolf Spider with an enviable hair-do. The large forward-facing eyes are the ones that glow so brightly at night. They all seemed especially attracted to the road. Much easier for jogging no doubt. Family Lycosidae.
After spending a day at the Mayan ruins of Calakmul, we headed back through the Reserve after dark. Every few minutes we would see the refection of tiny eyes on the road and began to stop to investigate. All were Wolf Spiders. This male was one of many, but with a particularly endearing style.
For the female of this species, see: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/139....

Thank you Neil! Lots of Teenagers look like this guy.
I just love the way he parts his hair. Brilliant series of this handsome fellow :)
Superb photography!!
When you have time could you see if there is a reason for this kind of bee behaviour?

Don't worry bonner511, he is only about 1 inch long (without legs) and would be much more afraid of you! :)
I am crying so scary
