Description:

Bristly caterpillar. Black and orange. Curls up as defensive posture when disturbed. Hibernates as caterpillar over the winter. Commonly called "wooly bears".

Habitat:

Short Hills Provincial Park, Ontario. Woodlands, found on edge of trail.
