False Crocus Geometer Moth

Description:

Family: Geometridae, Subfamily: Ennominae. Bright pale - medium yellow variably speckled and blotched tan to purplish brown. PM line is sometimes a complete band. Males are typically more heavily patterned than larger females. Typical WS size is 30-40 mm. This one 30 mm (small). Hosts: Various trees and low plants including catnip, goldenrod and dogwood.

Habitat:

Meadows, fields and lawns. Attracted to light
