Common Grackle

Description:

Common grackles are large blackbirds that are very common in the mid-west. Their heads have a blue glossy appearance. Although their body appears black, it is actually a bronzy, iridescent color. Their eyes are golden yellow. They are omniovors feeding on seeds, berries, insects, and sometimes small rodents or reptiles.

Habitat:

Grackles are found in both suburban and rural areas and tend to feed along the ground.
