Description:

Family: Papilionidae. Tribe: Papilionini. Also known as American or Parsnip Swallowtail. Female. Wingspan: 6.9-8.4 cm. Female typically larger than males. Sexually dimorphic. Black with 2 rows of yellow/white spots. Blue area between rows with red spot with black bull's eye. Food: Typically carrot family (Apiaceae), but feeding on Coneflowers (Aster family).

Habitat:

Garden in the front yard.
