What is this!?!?! They've perplexed me since childhood! Karen Puracan, thanks for the ID! These things are hard as cement, and I never would've guess they were Mantis eggs!

LOL...Years ago, I had a mantis lay her eggs on the INSIDE of my window-sill (How'd she do that?!?). When it hatched, I had a BAZILLION baby mantises in my bedroom! Very cool. But unfortunately the house geckos discovered them, and I think every single one was eaten. Nuts.

Karen, thanks for the ID! I never would have guessed that's what they were! If they weren't concreted on, I would collect an unhatched one. This one has obviously hatched already.
