A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
This is a small Old World warbler (fam Cisticolidae), about 12 cm in length, with a long graduated tail, and long and narrow bill. Throat and breast are whitish, with warm buff flanks and vent. The upperparts are grey-brown with rufous-brown edges to the flight feathers and a rufous tinge to the rump.
Very common (the most common of all prinias according to some field guides) in sub-Saharan Africa. Here, seen on borders of protected savanna/woodlands of Mukuvisi, outskirts of Harare.
