Verditer Flycatcher

Eumyias thalassinus

Description:

The colour of a dilute solution of copper sulphate...the male is a tad brighter so I think this one is a female. The front is bluish-grey. Black colour around the eyes....the mascara is smudged.

Habitat:

Very common in Kolakham Village. The place is remote, hilly and forested. About 1868m above sea level. The bird sits still on tree tops for at least a minute or so; so photography is easy.

Notes:

Lovely whistling song. This area is rich in moths and the bird never goes hungry. Called Neel (blue) Katkatiya in Bangla.
