White-throated sparrow

Description:

The white-throated sparrow is gray breasted with white throat and yellow above the lores. Grayish bill. Some adults have black and white head stripes and others have brown and tan head stripes. This white-throated sparrow has black and white head stripes. Female is same as male. This bird is known for its wonderful song, which can be heard all year. They do come to bird feeders but prefer to be on the ground.

Habitat:

This white-throated sparrow was sitting in a holly tree at Downs Park (an Anne Arundel County park), Pasadena, Maryland.
