These are pink with creases. I found different mushrooms in the same area.
@AntónioGinjaGinja. I think my mushroom is called
Laccaria amethystina-occidentalis. You were right that it was Laccaria species. So, thank you so much again.
Thank you so much drP for taking your time to search.
I think you got it again!. I think it is called Laccaria amethystina-occidentalis. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http... qAH_sYCADA&ved=0CFEQ9QEwBQ&dur=294
Okay, as I said, I've never ID'd a mushroom before, so please take that into consideration. The short story is that if it were my spotting, I'd call it Laccaria sp. The long story is (1) The overall shape, including the thick gills and the ruffly edge, looks like Laccaria to my completely untrained eye; (2) if all of the caps are under 2 cm in diameter, I'd lean towards L. tortilis--this species often has a pinkish color similar to your spotting; (3) if the caps are larger than this, I'd lean towards L. laccata--it is described as varying from reddish-brown to orange-brown to buff, and pink may be within its normal range; (4) while it's not purple enough to be L. amethystina, maybe there are hybrids between species; (5) a Web site about fungi in the SF Bay Area says that many species of Laccaria cannot be distinguished without microscopic examination. I don't know if this helps, but that's what I can tell from here.
Thank you very much Mayra. I am still looking for the right name for this beautiful mushroom...
Thank you very much AntónioGinjaGinja. I checked both of you suggestions, but I don't know if they are the same mushrooms. My mushrooms had flat top and the color of the mushroom was really pink.
RiekoS i ID mine after looking for Laccaria species i think it's a laccaria laccata http://www.google.pt/imgres?q=laccaria+l...
Thank you very much Yuko san.
I am waiting to hear what these are.
I was told that the green plants are star moss.
Beautiful mushroom! The green plants on the background make this a beautiful photo!
