These are not chanterelles. Chanterelles are usually yellow or white, and this mushroom is brown. Also, look at the mushroom's gills. Chanterelles do not have true gills. Instead, they have blunt ridges that fork. These ridges are called "false gills". Often, there are veins in between the false gills, especially on bigger chanterelles. The mushroom in this photo has true gills. It looks more like a Poison Pax (Paxillus involutus)
