A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Project Noah Nature School
A ground dwelling spider carrying its young on its back. Body length is about 7 - 8 mm .
Forest undergrowth, dump soil on rice fields and dark areas near houses and gardens.
Here is some eye arrangement information: http://bugguide.net/node/view/84423
Similar to wolf spiders but are generally smaller and have a very different eye arrangement. Possibly Miturga sp.
I am not a spider expert, but Wolf Spiders do carry their babies on their backs and in this case the babies are obscuring the markings on the spider. Here are a couple of references for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolf_spider...http://www.knowledgebank.irri.org/ipm/sp...
Wolf Spider? Please confirm.
Thanks for reminding me Daniele, missed that one.
Great spotting Shekai! It's perfect for this mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8176...
