Hypenagonia Noctuid Moth

Hypenagonia mesoscia

Description:

Cream coloured moth with brown band at its wings. Small moth, wingspan is about 7-8mm only. Hypenagonia mesoscia (Turner, 1933) (previously known as Hypenodes mesoscia), of family Noctuidae, subfamily Hypeninae. The adult moth has pale brown wings with a dark band across each one. Each forewing has a hooked apex, and a cusp on the margin at which there is a dark splotch. The wingspan is about 1cm.

Habitat:

Spotted on the ceiling of the garage.
