Great Blue Heron

Description:

A large heron. The head, chest, and wing plumes give it a shaggy appearance. They appear blue-gray from a distance. They have long legs, a thick, daggerlike bill and black stripe over their eye.

Habitat:

Made a controlled landing on the ice near an opening where it could fish. Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge.
