A medium sized butterfly with cream, brown and black patterns; long fur on abdomen; small wing spots. 30mm long, 40mm across.

Habitat:

Resting on dry mud neat lake in nature reserve.

Very approachable... ArgyNnina - there's a name!

Check this site Argy Bee. Geoff Walker's goal to photograph every Australian butterfly in the wild. A terrific collection.

Cyrils brown is the only species with three eye spots on the top wing. Leuba's shot shows these very well. I've still not seen one. Nice!
