Crag Martin; Avión Roquero

Ptyonoprogne rupestris

Description:

Crag Martins are partial migrants, in that they spend their summers up in the mountains when food is plentiful but they move down to the Mediterranean coast in winter where the relatively mild weather provides insects for them. The best identification feature is the white panels on the tail, only visible in flight when it is spread, as in picture 6.

Habitat:

Agricultural fields
