Epargyreus clarus
The wingspan of an adult silver-spotted skipper is 43–67 mm. The adult has translucent gold spots on the fore wings and silvery bands on the hind wings. They can be found from southern Canada throughout most of the United States to northern Mexico.
They can be seen in fields, gardens and at forest edges. This particular skipper was spotted in a field at Downs Memorial Park, Anne Arundel County, Pasadena, Maryland.
