Description:

Resembles Autumnal Moth, but FW is variably pale gray to sooty brown. Small black discal spot present. Terminal line is single black dots. Female has undeveloped wings and is flightless. --- (Peterson Filed Guide to Moths of Northeastern North America, by David Beadle & Seabrooke Leckie.)

Habitat:

Found fluttering over open field on cold day.
