Stick Insect, Phasmid - Female

Phanoclocrania dorsuaria

Description:

Female Nymph of a Stick Insect, Phasmid. Mostly light green in colour with interesting appendage on her head. She is quite big despite not adult yet, around 12 cm in body length. Found her in the garden of the Resort I was staying at.

Habitat:

High altitude neotropical forest

And yes, Phasmids doesn't make good macro subject due to their size/length.
So, I usually try to just take close-up of the face especially when they have interesting details, such as this one :)

That's a great job. I mean presenting this amazing creature in the form of a picture! I encounter this, the large variety, quite often but just give it a glance and pass by, because making its photos, getting the correct angle, etc., and presenting them is quite a task! Bravo, AlbertKang!
