Polythrix caunus
A 'tailed' skipper with a series of small transparent windows in the forewing. The wing fringes of Polythrix species are white, whereas in the other tailed genera they are either checkered or pale brown. The tails of Polythrix tend to be stubbier than in other genera.
Rainforest of Costa Rica
I spotted this skipper while at the Veragua Rainforest Host plants are various trees and shrubs in the family Leguminosae, including muellera, senna, toluifera and pterocarpus.
I'm so sorry bayucca, I missed seeing that on your link. I was about to research it more, so I eventually would have found the true range. Thank you again.
No panic!! Please, read the info from my link: Mexico to Paraguay. You can trust me, I usually check location and range before ;-).
Oh no, I just found this site that says Polythrix caunus can be found in Brazil, Ecuador and Peru. It doesn't list Costa Rica. Now what?
I'd like to hear opinions from butterfly people of Costa Rica

Oh thank you bayucca, I think you've found it ! By far the closest match of them all. The 4 squares seem to be a little variable on this species but I see some that are almost exact matches. And you're right, the angle of my shot makes it a little tricky. Polythrix caunus it shall be named.
The 4 small spots and the larger square spots would be a match for Polythrix caunus. But the perspective is a little bit tricky. What do you think? Here are some other Polytrix to compare. In my eyes, no other give a better match:

I think maybe Eudeaminae sub-family Ashish. I don't know how variable these guys can be. So far I can't find anything to match. Thank you.
I thought it was a Long-tailed skipper but there are other tropical skippers that look alike. I don't know which one this is for sure.
