Homona sp.
I spotted it on a leaf of a gerbera daisy. It was about 7mm in length, with pattern in shades of brown. Its face reminds me of a piglet. Genus Homona (Walker, 1863), of family Tortricidae, subfamily Tortricinae. Homona spp, leafroller moths, such as H. coffearia and H. difficilis, are considered tea and coffee pests. In the Philippines, recorded occurring spp are Homona salaconis (Brown 2005), H. bakeri (Diakonoff, 1968) from Mt.Makiling, H. bicornis (Diakonoff, 1968) from Los Baños, Laguna, and H. coffearia (Nietner, 1861) was found to attack the weed Chromolaena odorata (Siam weed, Hagonoy in Tagalog).
