Hydrillodes lentalis

Description:

Dark brown moth, about 15mm in body length. I was not able to get another angle. Hydrillodes lentalis. Erebidae, Herminiinae (Litter Moths). It is found in Southeast Asia, India, Japan, Taiwan, Australia (Queensland). The length of the forewings is 11–13 mm. Adults have brown forewings with submarginal zig-zag patterns including a dark comma shaped spot near the middle. The hindwings are pale brown, with a dark brown line running around the margin. The larvae feed on dead leaves. (Wikipedia)

Backyard garden, spotted on ceiling of the garage.
