Ardea melanocephala
Portrayed here is juvenile. Black-headed Heron is long-legged wading bird, mainly pale grey; with a long neck, and a long spear-like bill. Yellow eye, and dark grey crown, the grey coming down below the eye line. Some rufous streaks on throat. Legs are dark grey (not visible here).
Seen in marshy parts of Mukuvisi forest, a protected savanna reserve in Harare city.
At first I wrongly IDed this bird as Grey Heron, but thanks to friends from African Bird Club and their project AFBID (African Bird Image Database) the mistake was corrected - the Black-headed Heron is a bit smaller that the Grey, and a bit darker grey but the main difference is colors of legs (yellow for Grey and dark grey for Black-headed), and the line of the grey on the head (below the eye, as seen here, for juvenile Black-headed)
