Pupating Oleander Hawk Moth (Day 1)

Daphnis nerii

Description:

The newborn caterpillars are pale blue. Their color changes to green as they grow. They have two spots resembling eyes on the forefront of their body. The pupa is pale reddish or brownish-white and has a wax-like appearance. It lies directly on the earth, under moss or dry leaves.

Notes:

Photo #1 - 5pm on Day 2 from finding the caterpillar on the ground under it's host plant. The colour has completely changed. Photo #2 - 10 am on Day 2. Segments quite defined, and the body no longer straight. Very sensitive to even the slight touch of a leaf. The body jumps and twitches... It had stuck together in a clump, all the leaves under which it was lying.
