Snout moth

Description:

small moth about 10mm long, wingspan The wings are drawn together like a double pitch roof when at rest. Small tufts protrude above the apex of the backline, towards the rear; the darker patches on the wings have a slight metallic purple shine

Habitat:

attracted to kitchen light. Hot, arid locality with hot erratically wet summers and dry mild winters

Notes:

I am assuming this is a snout beetle due to the obvious upturned projection in front. The moth is straddling the grout between two wall tiles
