Australian Raven - juvenile

Corvus coronoides

Description:

dark eyes identify this raven as a juvenile, adults have a white iris. Strong raven beak, glossy black plumage.

Habitat:

common in Sydney, this one was found in Centennial Park, Sydney, NSW in one of the treed areas.

Notes:

This raven was caching a food item just under the loose bark of this tree. When I tried to see what it was, he got a little agitated so I am not sure. He was totally silent during this hiding activity. Photo #5 is of the item.
