A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pycnonotus cafer
Typically bulbul built, mainly dark brown upperparts with white rump and tip of the tail. Dark-brown to black head with short crest, giving it a pyramidal appearance. Lighter brown and streaked underparts with characteristic red vents.
Widespread in country, seen in every district I had a chance to visit, from dry hills to lowland river banks.
This could possibly be the ssp Pycnonotus cafer bengalensis, the only one I found recorded in Nepal.
