I just love the color of this metallic green jumping spider !
mountain resort and park
Yes, this spider has "whiter" legs than the average Carrhotus sannio. Maybe a variation? Not very sure.
This part of Philippines only have 2 species records of Carrhotus, the second one being C. barbatus. We still could not kick out the possibility of C. barbatus as we still do not know how they look like. The only picture of it in the internet is misleading as it is actually taken in Indonesia, where this species is not present.
Thanks for the confirmation, Chun! Barbatus looks quite different, I could kick it out quite quickly. What do you think about the markings of the legs? Shouldn't have it more black?
Good identification Bayucca! It definitely is a Carrhotus sanio.
The only other alternative is the lesser-known Carrhotus barbatus that is also found in Luzon.
Close to Carrhotus sannio, but I am not really happy with the markings on the legs, though... Please, check nevertheless...

Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Thank you LeanneGardner :) Yes a tiny gem that reminds me also of the holiday season !
