Pleated Inkcap Mushroom

Parasola plicatilis,

Description:

On discovery and in the light of an LED torch these fungi presented as pale blue or lavender with brown gills. After about twenty minutes of being picked the specimen had turned brown on the cap. No scent. Dry and very fragile. 2cm across the base of the cap. Slender white stem.Prolific brown or black spores. The cap had turned to mush in a few hours (Ephemeral)

Habitat:

several days constant rain. Nocturnal, narrow, unkempt little garden at the top of a retaining wall bordering lawns and a driveway. Only two of these guys found and in that one spot

Notes:

# lavendar mushroom march 14. The fungus at the beginning is there because the focus was so bad on the other images of the garden. Researched in Bill Leithhead's site (reference)
