Feathered Thorn

C⁠olotois pennaria

Description:

A rather large moth of the family Geometridae with a wingspan of 50 mm. The antennae are feather-shaped in the male. The forewing has two dark, almost straight, transverse stripes. It has a small dark spot between the crossbars and a small white spot near the tip of the wing.

Habitat:

Resting on the wall in a front porch.
