Description:

Wingspan: 80 mm.

Habitat:

Mixed forests consisting of pines, cherry, bamboo and others. Cool to warm place. Altitude: 1,700 m.

Notes:

This moth had visited our kitchen light and settled on the ceiling. This is a rare moth for me and one of the most beautiful ones.

Hi Sukanya! Yes, this particula Araxas is the rarer one, among them. It's one of the largest, except one biggest one I've spotted (www.projectnoah.org/spottings/826466002). I'll do the edit. Thanks.

Good morning, Doc....I was wondering if you would like to say Abraxus sp. or Magpie moth instead of keeping the box empty or as unknown spotting ...incredible variety indeed..haven't seen this one though.

Magpie moths Abraxus sp. I saw loads of variations on the theme in Sikkim and in West Bengal (northern areas)
