Eurasian Magpie

Pica pica

Description:

There always seems something quite comical about magpies although I'm not quite sure what as they are supposedly one of the most intelligent of all living birds but possibly that little hop, skip and jump they seem to do when on the ground. The sun had come out for an hour today so the light was catching the irridescence on its wing and tail feathers making them shine blue against the rest of its black and white body.

Habitat:

Seen at Clifton park, a wooded area with open fields and gardens.
