Description:

Rightly named after its ability of creeping up on trees while foraging for insects and spiders. Their downward curved bill and strong claws enable them to dig out their prey from the crevices of the tree bark.

Habitat:

Arid scrub-land

Notes:

These are extremely active birds swiftly moving up and down the tree trunk while scanning.
