Leaf Hopper

Bothrogonia addita

Description:

This bug was very small, about 2 cm in length and 0.5 cm wide. It had very bright, vibrant colors of orange and blue with five black spots near its head. The eyes are black and are on opposite sides of its head. Its body is orange, but is blue towards the bottom of the abdomen. What is interesting is that it has 6 legs: the first pair zigzag-shaped, the second pair longer and a bit hairy, and the third pair is like the first pair of legs.

Habitat:

I found this bug in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. It was in a low area, and even though it was sunny, it was well shielded from the sun. Right then, it was resting on a slightly wet leaf. I spotted this bug at 12:56 PM.
