Vervet monkey

Chlorocebus pygerythrus hilgerti

Description:

These curious little monkeys were all over the grounds of the lodge on the edge of Amboseli Nat. park, They were into everything, seeds, fruits, insects and even the tea/coffee and biscuits had to be hidden in a morning before our safari due to them helping themselves if no-one was paying attention! These are social monkeys living in groups of around 10 and they have very distinct alarm calls if they spot any of their predators within range.

Habitat:

Seen in the grounds of Amboseli lodge, Kenya.

Notes:

This one was a juvenile.
