Emperor Moth

Syntherata janetta

Description:

A wingspan of up to 15cm, this moth is a beauty! They're quite variable in colour, this one is rusty brown with white markings and a small dot on each wing. It has the fluffiest legs, so beautiful. This just reminds me of a teddy bear. Here is another one I've found to show you another variation in colour. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/171...

Habitat:

Found near native bushland, around 7km from the coast. Near Eucalyptus sp. Acacia sp. Melaleuca sp. and Angophora sp. Attracted to nightlight. Sugar cane farms nearby.
