Description:

Spreading and carpet-forming perennial and succulent species, with fleshy, narrow and pointed leaves. Flowers pink with yellow centre, large - approx 10 cm in diameter.

Habitat:

Widespread on Malta, on coastal areas and sandy soils. This is an alien and invasive species, originating from South Africa - it is also often cultivated as ornamental plant.

Notes:

Fruits are edible, raw or transformed into jam.
