Cosmophasis sp
White cheeks, striking eyebrows. Faded blue spots/marks on cephalothorax, rear and two centered. Front mark is colored yellow, along with the leg root joints. White stripe down center of abdomen.
Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.
I have decided to put up my collection of cosmophasis spiders. Although obviously cosmo’s, I have not been able to ID the species of these six arachnids.

Chun - thanks for all your help, I know you must have spent quite some time trying to help me and it is appreciated. So frustrating not to be able to access images for ID's.
The original discoverers did not have the benefit of photography, let alone digital. But, you would think that they would have made accurate color sketches of their discoveries, but all I find is useless sketches of what looks like intestines.
I guess cosmophasis sp. will just have to do for now. I will continue to collect images and catalog them into folders. Once I have several of each, I will look for an interested arachnologist.

folicallychalled, you have proven that Java has several beautiful and unique species of Cosmophasis spiders.
The bad news is that I could not identify even one of them.
The good news is that you did well in documenting all the Cosmophasis spiders that you have seen there and your photographs are a great contribution to the site.
However I can name 4 species that are recorded in Jawa.
These are :
Cosmophasis cypria
Cosmophasis marxi
Cosmophasis thalassina
Cosmophasis viridifasciata
I have tried but your Cosmophasis spiders are quite tough to be identified.
These species that I have listed may be included in your Jawa Cosmophasis spottings.
Good work in spotting all these great Javan organisms!
Lovely !
