Trashline Orbweaver

Cyclosa sp.

Description:

This Cyclosa sp. looked like it was just starting to add a decoration to its web. It was not in a good position for a decent web photo. The angle of the morning sunlight did not give me the reflection I was hoping for, but in the second photo you can just see the slightly thicker (and whiter) radial thread which is probably the spider's guide line on which it will construct a linear web decoration.

Habitat:

Spotted in the farm on a Lemon Tree (Citrus sp.). This web was only about 2 ft. above the ground, on the lower branches of the tree. I think that is slightly unusual (at least among the Cyclosa spp. that I have observed).
