White-tailed Deer (fawn)

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

The mother White-tailed Deer tends to hide her fawns in the same area of this field each year. Possible twins. This field is mowed very late (to protect the wildlife/songbirds) , so I do keep an eye out for them and alert the farmer that mows this field. This doe was right near the walking path. I snapped a few images and left her or him alone.

Habitat:

forests, swamps, bushy areas, fields
