A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
This group of moths is peculiar in having extremely long labial palpi in some species (some as long as the entire body and held back over the wings when at rest). The thin shorter antennae are visible to the sides of the head. This species can vary in color from pale brown to dark brown to red-brown. The 4th picture was taken on June 15, 2013 and the 5th picture on 28 August 2013, all in the same place. Family Erebidae, Subfamily Herminiinae (Litter Moths).
Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
These are all different individuals of the same species, from the same place.
