Spotting

Description:

A mushroom with a pale pink slightly ovoid blotchy cap and a dark centre. The cap was about 40 mm wide and appeared to have wisps of a remnant partial veil around the margin. Gills were crowded, notched and were tinted a pale pink. The upper part of the stipe also had a pink blush and was smooth up to a wispy annulus. The stipe past the annulus appeared to have a wispy outer sheath.

Habitat:

Spotted growing amidst damp leaf litter in a tall eucalyptus forest, after recent rains.
