Description:

The Wide-brand Grass-dart is a small skipper butterfly (wingspan 25 mm) which usually rests with its forewings half opened and hind wings fully opened as seen here. It has has orange colour patterns on a brown background.

Habitat:

Spotted in a weeds area in a suburban garden planted with SE Queensland natives. Common in the Brisbane bush.

Notes:

Distributed to Indonesia (Irian Jaya, Maluku), Australia (New South Wales, Northern Territory and Queensland), Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
