Cardinalis cardinalis
Red colored feathers with yellow beak. Males have the vibrant feathers to attract female cardinals as well as high pitched mating calls.
They live in open woodlands. You can also find them in dense shrubery and overgrown fields.
Its mating season is now and the cardinal is the state bird for seven states.
