Description:

There were two of these great birds patrolling the shore line seemingly looking for small invertebrates. A protected species in Britain and the emblem of the RSPB organisation responsible for the protection of birds. its upturned beak is its key distinguishing feature.

Habitat:

seen at Rutland water nature reserve owned by the leicestershire wildlife trust.
